KFC MUSIC EXPERIENCE WITH M.ANIFEST

An evening of great set of performances, vibrant and responsive audience and one that will linger on the minds of guests who were at the top floor of the KFC building at Osu on Friday, when the multiple award winning artist, M.anifest headlined the 2nd anniversary celebrations of one of the world’s food chain franchises, KFC.

The 2013 VGMA Best Rapper, backed by a live band sizzled hundreds of guests to a set of classics from his repertoire to set the night alive. M.anifest was on point with his performances for the one-and –half hours he was on stage, coordinating perfectly and connecting greatly with his band and the audience.

He performed songs from his albums Manifestions and Immigrant Chronicles as well as his single Ebei-Dream Killers, off his up-coming EP, Apae. M.anifest also brought out Lyrical Wanzam and together performed the street anthem ‘Shegey Reasons’. Opeimu with C-Real took the excitement notches high with the crowd taking over the song at a point.

Prior to M.anifest’s performances, one of Ghana’s fast rising rap sensations, Rumor had opened the night with two hits songs-Broke and Famous and Well Well.
Afro pop act Eli Muzik, singer Josh Blakk and poets from the stables of Ghana’s foremost poetry group, Ozionn and HashMullah also gave an impressive act the guests present.

If there was one regret I had and surely many others like myself, it was the duration of the show. I wanted some more music, more performances. The two-and half hours felt very short.

KFC, one of the famous food chains in the world celebrated its 2nd anniversary since opening in Ghana in 2011. And that top floor could just become the new hot place to be if the management will explore the idea further.

The event which was organized by Masco Foods, owners of the KFC franchise in Ghana, a member of the Mohinani Group of Companies which include Poly Sacks, Poly Tanks, Poly Kraft, Somotex, Somovision, Uniwell Trading, South West Estates and partnered by Coca Cola.
The first ever fast food restaurant to give back to the customers in such fashion and to stream the event live via YouTube courtesy of Google Ghana is a laudable one.  We need more of such creative marketing initiatives in the country.
